Role Details:

You will be a part of a dynamic and engaged Environmental team responsible for environmental activities at the operation, meeting current and future demands in line with Gold Fields’ Environmental standards, policies and procedures. This role supports the Environmental team to maintain compliance with relevant legislative requirements and plays a vital role in ensuring sustainable mining operations at Granny Smith.

This role is offered on a 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth

About the role:

  • Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver the environmental management plan (particularly with regards to land disturbance, water, waste and biodiversity management);
  • Ensure effective controls to manage compliance with legislative and company obligations;
  • Contribute to sustainable mining by assisting with continuous improvement and maintenance of the site’s ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System;
  • Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements;
  • Assist with closure and rehabilitation activities, including studies, implementation and closure monitoring;
  • Advise on and assist with approvals for operations.

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • An understanding of Western Australia legislation (DEMIRS, DWER, DBCA).
  • Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in ArcGIS and UAV Remote Pilot Licence is desirable.
  • Proven experience in an environmental function within the mining sector.
  • Manual Driver’s Licence.
