Position Summary:

The Engineering Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced and outstanding individual to fill an Artisan III - Rigger position. The successful applicant will be responsible for using rigging equipment to lift, sling, suspend and assist in the repair and installation of rigger equipment for operational purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficient preparation and assemblage of rigging tools for safe lifting
• Regularly assist in the repair and maintenance of rigging equipment
• Ensure the safe lifting, slinging, suspension and installation of equipment
• Assist in changing conveyor belts as and when required
• Use crane operators’ methodology and termination to solve problems
• Efficient preparation and assemblage of rigging tools for safe lifting
• Use skills and knowledge to execute day-to-day pre-check of all lifting equipment on site
• Identify and rectify risks and hazards in the course of operations

Key Requirements:

• Middle School Leaving Certificate or Junior High School Certificate with NVTI grade 1
• Three (3) years working experience as a rigger
• Well developed oral and written communication skills as well as ability to interact with people of diverse cultures
•  A team player with good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
•  Should be able to work with less supervision
• A valid driving license and proficiency in driving light vehicle
• Medical fitness for the position and environment
