Crane Operator

POSITION:     Mobile Crane Operator

Role Details:

Gold Fields Ghana seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual for the position of Mobile Crane Operator. Reporting to the Section Engineer, the Mobile Crane Operator, will be responsible for safe lifting, loading and transporting heavy items in an efficient manner.

About the role:

• Driving, positioning, and setting up machines and boom
• Dismantling of the counterweights and preparing crane for travel good interpretation of electrical and PI&D electro winging
• Safe lifting and transporting heavy items in an efficient manner Ensure quick response and delivery on maintenance issues
• Ensure safe operation of anti-two block device, boom angle indicators, rated load indicators and boom length indicators
• Coordinate and control procedures necessary for task execution

• Maintain good housekeeping and a safe environment of the Cranes

About you:

• A minimum of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)
• A minimum of three years’ working experience as a mobile crane operator in a mining or plant environment
• A valid Ghanaian Driver’s license and accredited Mobile crane operator’s license E1
• A requisite Mincom certificate of competency and be familiar with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2182) pertaining to cranes
• A good operating knowledge on 60 Ton P&H cranes, and Groove Cranes above 45 Tones
• Operating knowledge on forklift and Hiab will be an added advantage
• Good understanding of power transfer for cranes, loading and lifting
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills in English language as well as ability to interact with people of diverse culture
