Dispatch Technician

Role Details:

Gold Fields Ghana is seeking to employ an experienced and self-motivated team player to fill the position of Dispatch Technician in the Mining Department. Reporting to the FMS Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for management and maintenance of Mining systems (software/Hardware) and support the integration of new systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Hardware/Software installations on Mining technology systems deployed onsite
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
• Liaise with Dispatchers, Operators and other stakeholders to improve system’s operational efficiency
• Coordinate with IT and OEMs for infrastructure reliability
• Develop and maintain safe work procedures for all hardware tasks
• Maintain hardware inventory and coordinate replacements or upgrades
• Align system support activities with mining plans and production targets
• Ensure efficient use of resources through proper tracking and procurement

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of a tertiary qualification in Computer Engineering/Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• At least three (3) years’ relevant working experience in a mining environment.

• Modular Dispatch Hardware Certificate of competency an added advantage
• Demonstrated technical competency in Fleet Management Systems (Modular Dispatch, Hexagon OP Pro, Wenco, pitram etc.)
• Must possess strong Information and Data Management skills.
• General knowledge of wireless network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, methods, and procedures related to the role.
• Must be a courageous safety leader, team-oriented and demonstrate initiative, take responsibility, and manage tasks through to completion.
