Role Details

Gold Fields Ghana is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Engineering Technician – Radio.

 

The successful candidate will be accountable for the day-to-day maintenance of radio subscriber lines, applying technical knowledge and experience to efficiently identify and repair faults while taking proactive measures to minimize waste wherever practicable.

 

About the role:

  • Diagnose and repair of radios, public address, emergency vehicle siren and ancillary equipment
  • Undertake daily routine fault tracing and maintenance of telephone subscribers’ lines
  • Installation and provision of technical support for VHF/UHF analog and digital systems
  • Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of MotoTRBO digital radio communication system
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of basic network fault
  • Undertaking daily routine fault finding and maintenance of handheld radios and radios fixed into vehicles.
  • Extending Services to New Areas
  • Suggesting improved ways that would prolong the lifespan of all radio equipment
  • Maintain a safe and friendly environment to ensure effective engineering standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements

 

About you:

  • HND in Electrical and Electronic engineering from a recognized institution
  • Relevant Electronic Technician Certificate (Pat III) or any other relevant trade certificate
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in similar position
  • Must understand good maintenance practices
  • Mincom inspecting engineers’ certificate of competency would be an added advantage
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal, written and listening skills
  • Must be well-developed oral and written communication skills as well as ability to interact with people of diverse cultures
  • Must be able to use initiatives, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion
  • A valid Ghanaian driving license is an advantage
