Geologist

Purpose of the job:

The Geology Department of Damang Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced and self-motivated individual for the position of Geologist. The incumbent will be responsible for providing support for the optimal economic exploitation of mine’s ore bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for grade control drilling activities including GC logging and ore mark out
• Production tracking and reporting, stockpile management
• Optimal ore mark-up and extraction to ensure minimal dilution
• Ensure mining activities conform to the current pit designs and report any required actions to the Senior Mine Geologist.
• Provide quality service to the Mining Department to ensure site forecasts are achieved
• QA/QC analysis of drilled results in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards
• Training and development of Field Technicians and Junior Geologist
• Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor
• Maintain a safe and friendly environment and ensure that effective geological standards and procedures are followed and implemented in compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements

        Key Requirements:

·         Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geological Engineering or its equivalent

·         A minimum of three (3) years geological experience in the mining or exploration field

·         Experience in Hydrothermal and Palaeoplacer gold mineralization

·         The use of MineSight, Datamine, Leapfrog, GeOrient and acQuire software packages

·         Must be results-oriented

·         Have strong oral and written communication skills in English Language

• A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
