Geologist

Role Details

Abosso Goldfields Limited, Damang Mine, is seeking to employ a dynamic and result oriented person to fill in the position as a Senior Database Geologist and assist with the day-to-day running of the Mining Geology section. The incumbent will report directly to the Sectional Mining Geologist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that the mining geology database is updated (sampling, drilling and laboratory data) and available to mining geologists.
• Regular quality control reporting of data received and timely notification and rectification of anomalies.
•  Maintaining software licences.
• Compile and write monthly, quarterly, annual reports as required.
• Monitor and control the department’s consumables and stocks (standards, sample bags etc.)
• Training and development of subordinates.

Key Requirements:

• BSc or Diploma in Geology or Geological Engineering.
• Solid experience with database software, preferably AcQuire.
• At least one year in a similar position.
• Have sound technical understanding of hydrothermal and palaeoplacer gold mineralisation.
• Have strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent administration and computer skills.
• Be able to work independently under minimum supervision
• Have strong experience in Microsoft office, preferably Ms Word, Excel
