Role Details

Gold Fields Ghana seeks to employ an experienced and suitable individual for the position of Instrument Technician II.  

The incumbent will be responsible for executing specialized technical functions according to policies and procedures and within prescribed guidelines to support the operation to achieve its objectives and goals.

About the role:

• Assists in enforcing electrical and instrumentation standards and procedures during construction and commissioning.
• Assist with calibration of instruments and speed control systems
• Assist in developing workshop flow systems and implementation
• Initiate cost saving practices and productivity improvements of specially assigned projects
• Identify problems and advice on remedial action
• Ensure systems, practices, methods and procedures are implemented, maintained and continuously improved
• Maintain a safe and friendly environment to ensure effective engineering standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements

About you:

• Tertiary qualification in Electronic or Electrical engineering or related discipline from a recognized institution
• Minimum of four (4) years’ working experience in a similar role.
• At least a Sectional Engineer’s certification from the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission and be conversant with the provisions and applicable regulations of the L.I.2182 of 2012
• Working knowledge in installation, calibration, troubleshoot and good maintenance practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with expertise in using various root cause and diagnostic tools
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with all levels of staff
