Role Details
The Engineering department of Tarkwa Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced and outstanding individual to fill a Section Engineer – Civil & Structural design.
The incumbent will be responsible for design, drawing and preparing technical specifications for Mine infrastructure projects.
About the role:
- Maintain a safe and friendly environment to ensure effective engineering standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Prepare conceptual and detailed engineering designs for mine infrastructure projects.
- Ensure that Gold Fields Ghana Limited engineering policies and practices are integrated into designs.
- Implementation and enforcing compliance of Contract Policies and Procedures of the company.
- Ensure agreed schedule targets are met and that designs take cognizance of the budget constraints
- Ensure that engineering quality and safety standards are met.
- Prepare Bills of Materials, Weight Take-Offs, scope of works and other similar tasks as may from time to time to be assigned.
- Produce and revise quality AutoCAD drawings to Company standards.
- Initiate cost saving practices and productivity improvement of specially assigned projects.
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering such as HND/BSc. Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture or equivalent.
- Must have a Mincom Sectional Engineer’s certificate of competency and be familiar with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2182).
- Must have a sound understanding of project methodologies and experience in project management.
- Practical experience of C.A.D, AutoCAD Software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP is required.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels.
- Ability to work for long hours under strenuous conditions, with a result-oriented attitude and should be able to work with less or no supervision.
- Valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles.
