DEPARTMENT:       Metallurgy

Role Details:

The Metallurgy Department seeks to employ an experienced and suitable individual for the position of

Section Operator II.

The incumbent will be responsible for planning and executing assigned tasks to achieve operational objectives through effective organization, coordination, and strict adherence to established controls in accordance with metallurgical standards and procedures.

About the role:

• Assist maintenance crew in carrying out maintenance works.
• Liaise with the supervisors to ensure timely reporting and execution of work.
• Ensure area of operation is controlled in accordance with operational procedures.
• Hands over any unsafe situation or hazards that are likely to obstruct production to the shift supervisor.
• Proactive approach to overcome obstacles during shift using good judgment.
• Reports to the Supervisor on ways to improve safety, efficiency, performance, and production.
• Ensure good housekeeping in area of operation.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of Senior High School Certificate or its Equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of processing plant and tools.
• Must anticipate, plan and react quickly & flexibly to changing circumstances.   
• Must have the ability to identify and rectify risks and hazards.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal, written and listening skills.
• A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving light vehicles. Mobile equipment license and mine permit will be an added advantage.
