Senior Surveyor

Purpose of the job:

The Mining Department of Damang Gold Mine seeks to employ competent individual who will assist the department with the overall survey work and ensure that all standards, procedures and safety regulations are followed. Using his/her skills, the Senior Surveyor will ensure that field works are processed to ensure software databases are up to date and calculations, results and the dtm’s are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the section’s activities to ensure work output is maximized, efficient and accurate
• Organize personnel and equipment to safely and effectively achieve daily targets
• Ensure that the project continuous improvement is successfully implemented through efficient data delivery
• Ensure that topographic information is updated and presented correctly and on time
• Ensure to provide all Pit and Waste dump design details required for operational purposes daily
• Ensure Mining pit floors and High walls angles are achieved daily
• Ensure all Stockpiles, Pits and Waste dumps volumes are up to date daily
• Always mentor and coach subordinates
• Handle complaints from subordinates and give feedback.

Key Requirements:

• A BSc/ Diploma in Mine Survey from a recognized institution
• Knowledge in Total station, GPS (Static & RTK) operation, and Laser Level machine
• A minimum of five (5) years experience as a surveyor
• Good Computer Skills and Knowledge in Surpac will be an advantage
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills in English and an ability to relate with people of diverse cultures
• Medical fitness for the position and environment
• A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and a proficiency in driving a light vehicle
