POSITION: SHIFT SUPERVISOR - PRODUCTION JOB GRADING: C4 DEPARTMENT: MINING LOCATION: TARKWA

Role Details:
The Mining Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced and self-motivated individual for the position of Shift Supervisor – Production. The incumbent will use acquired expertise to ensure the safe utilisation of assigned equipment by assigned subordinates, resources, competencies and skills to meet daily planned production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the achievement of qualitative and quantitative output through the efficient utilization of available resources.
- Initiate cost saving practices and productivity improvement of specially assigned projects.
- Maintain a culture of Continuous Improvement in the section.
- Investigate all accidents / Incidents and report on same.
- Organizes personnel and equipment to safely and effectively achieve daily targets.
- Visits all areas of responsibility and ensure that correct work procedures are followed.
- Chair daily tools box safely meetings and report on same.
- Maintain a safe and environmentally friendly working environment.
- Apply Knowledge and experience to solve problems during the shift.
- Demonstrate full understanding of topsoil and waste dump management.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of Five (5) years’ work experience as Supervisor on a surface mine (Open Pit Operation).
- Must have extensive knowledge in applicable Mining Regulations.
- Must have experience in Surface Mining.
- At least Mine Captain and Supervisory Skills Training Certificates
- Well develop communication skills and the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and must be willing and able to acquire site driver permit.
