Role Details:

Gold Fields Ghana seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual for the position of Tailings Officer. Reporting to the Tailings Facility Engineer (TFE), the incumbent will be responsible for planning, controlling and executing tasks according to laid down procedures.

About the role:

• Provide technical and operational support to the Tailings Facility Engineer.
• Monitor and analyze monitoring data in compliance with the facility’s Operation, Maintenance and Surveillance (OMS) manual.
• Organize, maintain and update critical TSF operating documents.
• Assist with the implementation and compliance of the requirement of the Gold Fields Group TSF Management Standard, Global Industry Standard in Tailings Management (GISTM), Ghanaian regulations and international best practices.
• Ensuring accurate incident, change management and operational record-keeping
• Provide construction supervision and reporting support.
• Supervise instruments installations works.
• Assist with TSF risk identification and reporting.
• Responsible for own safety as well as safety of others.
• Maintain good housekeeping and a safe environment around the TSFs.

   

  About you: 
• • A minimum of tertiary qualification in Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in a mining or geotechnical environment.
  • Sound knowledge of tailings management regulations, guidelines and international best practices.
  • Working knowledge of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).
  • Proficient in MS Office software suite.
  • Confident in learning new software programs with a basic level of understanding of how to review and validate outcomes.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Proactive, innovative and take pride in producing quality work.
