Role Details
Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Lead specialist combined assurance to be based at the Corporate Office in Sandton, to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of the Combined Assurance Model, ensuring alignment across assurance providers and strengthening governance, risk oversight, and reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in consolidating assurance insights, enhancing assurance coverage and supporting the Manager in delivering a coordinated and efficient assurance environment and ensuring compliance with the requirements of KING V.
About the role:
- Deliver a coordinated and efficient assurance environment and ensuring compliance with the requirements of KING V
- Maintain and update the combined assurance framework and coverage plan
- Coordinate risk, audit, and compliance activities to avoid duplication and ensure proper coverage
- Collect and consolidate assurance inputs from various departments
- Prepare dashboards and reports for ExCo, Audit Committee, and Risk Committee
- Monitor key risks, controls, and the status of assurance activities
- Identify assurance gaps and recommend improvement actions
- Facilitate communication between internal audit, compliance, risk, external auditors, and management
- Support governance and compliance processes, special governance or review projects
- Maintaining the Combined Assurance matrix across the three lines of defence.
- Manage control and monitoring systems, standards and processes for quality assurance
- Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with internal audit, compliance, risk, external auditors, and management
- Track action plans from audits or risk reviews to completion
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, auditing, accounting or related discipline
- Post graduate qualification or professional designation (CIA, CRMA, CCSA, CFSA, IRMSA certification, SAICA/ACCA)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, assurance coordination or governance roles
- Demonstrated experience with combined assurance frameworks (King V advantageous).
- Solid experience in preparing governance/committee reports
- Strong understanding of risk management (ISO 31000), internal controls, and assurance standards
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance (King V)
- High ethical standards, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to interpret risk registers, audit reports, compliance assessments and control frameworks
