Role Details
Gold Fields is seeking an experienced OT Data Integration & Modelling Lead Specialist who can design, construct, govern and optimise the OT architecture, UNS Structures, real-time data flow and modelling frameworks needed to support consistent, scalable OT-IT data integration. The successful incumbent will account for varying site maturities, complex vendor ecosystems, strict cybersecurity requirements, and cross-functional collaboration across corporate and global assets.
About the role:
- Own and maintain the OT Data Architecture and UNS framework, ensuring alignment with ISA-95, IEC 62443, and Gold Fields standards
- Lead the integration of new OT data sources including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, Wenco FMS, environmental systems, online analysers, and third-party vendor APIs
- Design and govern the global topic and data model structures for the Unified Namespace, ensuring consistent, cybersecure, real-time data flow from sites to corporate
- Develop and maintain semantic data models, transformations, and structures for Timescale/PostgreSQL and enterprise analytics platforms
- Ensure data quality, lineage, metadata consistency, timestamp integrity and compliance with the OT governance standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with ICT, Engineering, Asset Optimisation and Automation teams to ensure end-to-end data readiness and architectural alignment
- Drive standardisation, documentation, and continuous improvement of data ingestion patterns, security patterns, and integration frameworks
- Provide technical leadership for event-driven architecture deployments, MQTT broker configurations, and store-and-forward data reliability
- Support operational teams through troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis of OT data pipeline or UNS issues
About you:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, Process), Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of solid experience in the operations technology field within the global mining industry
- Experience in configuring and supporting MQTT brokers, data gateways, OPC UA connectors, APIs, and site-to-corporate ingestion layers
- Knowledge of OT systems (PLCs, SCADA/HMI, DCS, FMS), telemetry, environmental systems, and architectures & integration models ((ISA-95, ISA-99/IEC 62443)
- Ability to architect and implement OT data pipelines and UNS-aligned integration solutions for both underground and surface operations
