Role Details
Gold Fields is currently seeking a Lead People Systems Specialist to support the Senior Manager People Systems in leading the design, implementation, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing management of SAP SuccessFactors across all People processes. This role ensures that People technology solutions align with business objectives, improve employee experience, and support People operations and strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with ICT and People Systems to identify, design, and implement process and system enhancements that optimise performance and user experience
- Act as a trusted advisor to People teams, recommending leading practices and translating business needs into effective system solutions
- Manage system setup (workflows, rules, permissions), monitor releases, and ensure seamless integration with other systems
- Safeguard data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, POPIA), while monitoring usage and audit logs
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports to support compliance, operational monitoring, and leadership decision-making
- Lead UAT, quality assurance, and change initiatives to support adoption of new functionalities with minimal disruption
- Provide troubleshooting, user support, documentation, and training workshops to drive system adoption and effective usage
- Mentor the regional People Systems team, foster knowledge sharing, and manage external vendor relationships
- Track system performance, data integrity, and user adoption, recommending ongoing improvements to align with evolving business needs
Key factors to your success include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Information Technology, or a related field
- Have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in People systems management or a related field, with a strong focus on Success Factors
- Be trained in People technology, with a focus on SuccessFactors certifications or accreditation in at least 3 modules of SuccessFactors
- Be strong in system configuration, data analysis, reporting, and creating user-friendly dashboards to support decision-making
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to engage stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Have the ability to anticipate trends, solve complex challenges, and streamline processes through technology
- Be trained in People technology, with a focus on SuccessFactors certifications or accreditation in at least 3 modules of SuccessFactors
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre
