Role Details
Gold Fields is seeking an experienced Lead Specialist Risk Management to be based at the Corporate Office in Sandton, to provide analytical, administrative, and coordination support to the Senior Risk and Finance Transformation Manager, enabling effective implementation of the enterprise risk management framework across the organisation. The successful candidate will ensure that risk management processes run smoothly and that management has the insights needed to make informed decisions.
About the role:
- Support risk identification, assessment, and monitoring across the organisation and help maintain accurate risk registers
- Collect, analyse, and validate risk data to support preparation of risk dashboards, reports, and presentations for management
- Assist in implementing and maintaining risk management frameworks, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with Group standards
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and risk action plans, following up with business units to ensure timely remediation
- Coordinate with risk owners and departmental stakeholders, facilitating risk workshops, meetings, and awareness activities
- Prepare and maintain risk documentation for internal audits, external reviews, committees, and governance reporting
- Provide administrative and systems support for risk management tools and processes to ensure consistent and accurate data entry
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related discipline
- Professional certification or in progress of obtaining a certification in IRM, CRMA, CIA, FRM advantage
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks such as ISO 31000, COSO, or equivalent
- Experience in risk assessment and analysis techniques (risk registers, heat maps, and KRIs)
- Experience risk governance and reporting requirements (internal committees, oversight structures, regulatory expectations)
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting skills, including proficiency with Excel and risk management systems or software
- Ability to proactively identifies issues, suggests solutions, and supports problem-solving
