SITE: South Deep Gold Mine
The Officer Workforce & OM Administration provides workforce movement and organisational management support and governance for South Deep's internal and Business Partner (contractor) workforce. The role ensures accurate organisational structures, efficient onboarding and offboarding processes, and strict adherence to governance frameworks for workforce movements, approvals, access control, shift compliance, and labour budget alignment. This position supports operational workforce planning through accurate data management, complement vs. strenth analysis, and effective coordination between People team, Line Management, and Business Partner companies. A core requirement of the role envisages assignment rotation between operational support and SAP Organisational Management functions based on operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in HR operations, organisational management, workforce planning, or contractor management (preferably in mining or a similarly regulated environment)
- Sound knowledge and experience working with HRIS systems (SAP HR Organisational Management, SAP ERP, SAP SuccessFactors, Maxxess)
- Proven ability to manage HR compliance processes, documentation, and governance
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage HR and workforce data accurately
- Proven interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational, planning, and time management capabilities
- Ability to work independently and proactively within tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of mining industry practices, site access requirements, and Business Partner management protocols
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate organisational structures in HRIS systems (SuccessFactors, SAP) including reporting lines, position management, cost centres, and alignment to approved labour budgets
- Coordinate and manage pre-onboarding processes for employees and Business Partner employees, including documentation verification, medicals, security clearances, qualifications, and site access
- Serve as a key liaison between Business Partners, People teams, and Line Managers to ensure seamless onboarding and integration
- Process and monitor workforce changes (appointments, movements, promotions, shift/work cycle changes, terminations) in line with governance requirements and change-control protocols
- Oversee exit processes to ensure compliance, complete documentation, and accurate system updates
- Conduct regular complement vs. strength analysis to support workforce visibility, planning, and reporting
- Ensure all People/HR, onboarding, and compliance documentation is complete, verified, stored, and managed in line with policy and audit requirements
- Process and manage access control requisitions, ensuring employees and contractors are linked to the correct structures and cost centres
- Monitor shifts, rosters, and work cycles to identify inconsistencies or non-compliance and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with HR and operational stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and strengthen data accuracy and service delivery
