POSITION:                 Senior Specialist Team Effectiveness

JOB GRADING:          D Lower

The Senior Specialist Team Effectiveness supports team and leadership performance by applying behavioural science, team development methodologies, and facilitation expertise. As a Registered Psychometrist, the incumbent plays a key role in enhancing collaboration, psychological safety, and high-performance team dynamics through behavioural insight, structured team interventions, and advisory support.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Industrial Psychology (Honours required)
  • Registered Psychometrist with the HPCSA
  • Minimum of  3 years’ relevant experience in team effectiveness, interpersonal dynamics, and psychological safety facilitation with suitable experience using a variety of psychometric tools (e.g., CPP, CPA, Hogan, EQi)
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre

  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal sensitivity
  • Skilled in facilitating trust-building sessions, psychological safety conversations, and team diagnostics
  • Able to integrate multiple assessment data sources to support development conversations
  • Comfortable coaching leaders on team dynamics and behavioural performance
  • Upholds ethical standards and confidentiality in all assessment-related activities
  • Strong report writing and diagnostic interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of performance and culture challenges in industrial or mining environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Promote a culture of authentic safety leadership by participating in and leading operational Safety, Health, Environment and Risk management campaigns, audits, incident management and investigations
  • Actively support the company’s strategies and initiatives to promote a respectful, diverse and inclusive workplace culture
  • Interpret behavioural and team-related assessment insights to support team development, leadership alignment, and group performance improvement
  • Facilitate structured team sessions using recognised development frameworks
  • Support psychological safety and respectful workplace practices through feedback loops and action planning
  • Provide behavioural insights to inform talent decisions and leadership development
  • Advise People Team and Line Leaders on team dynamics, collaboration, and behavioural alignment
  • Partner with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and Learning teams to embed behavioural science into broader organisational initiatives
  • Track and report on the impact of team interventions to ensure continuous improvement
