POSITION: Superintendent Compliance Systems and Reporting (HRD)
JOB GRADING: D Lower
DEPARTMENT: People Function - Training and Development
SITE: South Deep Gold Mine
The Superintendent Compliance Systems and Reporting ensure effective Human Resource Development (HRD) information management and reporting. The role is responsible for HRD MQA accreditation, governance modernisation, and key operational projects, whilst providing expert legislative guidance and assurance. Through collaboration, the incumbent drives HRD governance beyond compliance requirements, advancing world-class people development for long-term stakeholder value
Minimum Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Development or related
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resource Development, with 3 years as a Training Officer or Facilitator
- Skilled in Mine Qualifications Authority (MQA) and ISO9001 accreditation administration and assurance
- HRD systems and reporting proficiency with the ability to integrate multiple data sources
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

Key Competencies:
- Advanced safety leadership capability with proven safety campaign delivery record
- Accomplished team and people leader with advanced inter and intra-team collaboration and, sound spoken and written English communication skills
- Proven diagnostic, problem-solving, decision-making skills
- Sound project management skills
- Proven application and management of information systems (eg. SAP; BW; MQA; MIS; SharePoint)
- In-depth knowledge of applicable legislation including but not limited to Skills Development; Mining Charter; Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and the Mine Health & Safety Act
- In-depth knowledge of MQA accreditation requirements and application of ISO 9001
- In-depth understanding and proven application of assessment and moderation procedures
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively engage in and demonstrate Visible Felt Leadership aligned to operational SHE standards, operational campaigns and instructions and, ensuring appropriate remediation interventions are formulated and executed
- Promote a culture of authentic safety leadership by participating in and leading operational Safety, Health, Environment and Risk management campaigns, audits, incident management and investigations
- Actively support the company’s strategies and initiatives to promote a respectful, diverse and inclusive workplace culture
- Participate in and lead team coaching, resourcing, capability, succession and talent management initiatives
- Contribute to the development, refinement and implementation of HRD policies and procedures aligned to the HRD strategic delivery programme
- Maintain focus on emerging and promulgated changes in relevant HRD and related legislation, regulations and guidelines and recommend appropriate actions to ensure departmental governance and practice alignment
- Schedule, conduct and oversee appropriate HRD governance and assurance assessments issuing reports and associated remedial/enhancement actions
- Contribute towards, lead and manage HRD systems enhancement, design and maintenance projects as assigned e.g. MQA accreditation, HRD LMS Systems optimisation, Graduate & Learnership Programme management, ad hoc HRD projects, etc.
- Schedule, participate in and lead assigned statutory, regulatory, certification, in-house reporting and inspection events e.g. WSP/ATR, ISO90001, Mining Charter/SLP, BBB-EE, etc.
- Maintain and continuously refine HRD administration standards, reporting and filing systems aligned to operational procedures, certification and regulatory standards
