The Opportunity:

Granny Smith Gold Mine is seeking an experienced and proactive Coordinator: Projects (Mechanical) to support the successful delivery of capital and sustaining projects across our operation. 

 

In this key role, you will coordinate the design, execution, and implementation of mechanical engineering components, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

 

Working closely with site stakeholders, contractors, and project teams, you will play an integral role in delivering reliable mechanical systems and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and Gold Fields standards. What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the delivery of mechanical capital and sustaining projects across processing, underground, and surface operations, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Provide technical oversight of mechanical designs, installations, plant upgrades, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and site requirements.
  • Manage mechanical contractors, consultants, and vendors to deliver high-quality project outcomes while maintaining strong safety and performance standards.
  • Develop and monitor project scopes, schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and resource requirements to support successful project execution.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and statutory compliance, working collaboratively with site stakeholders to integrate project outcomes into ongoing operations.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Boilermaking or a related mechanical discipline with significant experience in mining operations and project delivery, preferably within WA gold mining and FIFO environments.
  • Hold a current WHS Statutory Supervisors certificate (S26).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications and project documentation.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with strong technical knowledge of mineral processing plants, mobile equipment, machinery, and associated infrastructure services.
  • Sound understanding of WA mining legislation, engineering standards, and safety management systems, with a strong commitment to safe and compliant operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and performance development experience within multidisciplinary teams, supported by a current C Class Driver’s Licence.
