The Opportunity:

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Trade Assistant to join their Mining Maintenance Department at Agnew Gold Mine.

 

Reporting to the Leading Hand : Electrical, the successful incumbent of this role will be responsible and tasked with working withing the mining maintenance department and assisting with maintenance activities and project work across the three underground operations at Agnew gold mine.   This will assist in timely development and production to recover targeted ore to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient manner.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working at Heights Ticket (essential)
  • Valid manual drivers’ licence (essential)
  • Tickets such as dogging, basic rigging, crane licence are desirable
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and computer skills would be highly regarded.

 

About the Role:

  • Assist electrical, communications and dewatering team in maintenance and project work activities
  • Operation of tools and equipment including mobile elevated work platforms, Volvo integrated tool carriers, light vehicles and other hydraulically operated mobile machinery
  • Support efficient operation by providing reliable and accurate knowledge to minimise down time
  • Provide preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and organizing the timely repair of operating equipment
  • Action tasks in accordance with environmental policies; control, contain, clean-up and communicate all environmental spills with particular attention to oil and hydraulic leaks.
