The Opportunity

 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering capital infrastructure projects across multiple underground operations at Agnew gold mine. From project inception to completion, you will meet current and anticipated capital project demands in accordance with Gold Fields standards, while maintaining compliance with legislative and statutory requirements.

 

Reporting to the Unit Manager Underground Mining, this is a challenging and rewarding role that ensures underground projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to the highest safety standards.

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Project managing and delivering underground infrastructure and facilities across the entire project lifecycle, from planning and scheduling through to execution and close-out
  • Develop schedules, tracking progress and ensuring adherence to project timelines
  • Budgeting, cost forecasting and cost management
  • Working closely with technical services, operations and internal teams to align project delivery
  • Managing contractors and business partners, ensuring performance and compliance
  • Project progress reporting and technical report compilation
  • Identifying and mitigating risks and implementing improvement initiatives

 

What you’ll bring:

 

You take ownership and accountability, with a strong project mindset and ability to deliver projects in a challenging and ever-changing underground environment.

 

  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects in underground mining or similar
  • Proven project management, planning, budgeting, and scheduling capability
  • Commercial awareness and a focus on cost-effective delivery
  • Excellent communication and ability to influence and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, Excel, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD
  • Post graduate qualifications in engineering, project management and/or trade qualification is desirable
  • Valid manual C Class Driver’s Licence
