The Opportunity:

Reporting to Manager Processing, you will lead the Agnew Fixed Plant Maintenance Team and oversee all processing plant equipment and supporting infrastructure. Your focus is ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations while meeting production targets and upholding all company standards and procedures.

 

You will drive the full asset lifecycle — from acquisition and operation through to maintenance and disposal — ensuring every asset supports Gold Fields’ operational, financial and strategic objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead safety‑aligned performance by modelling company values and ensuring all maintenance activities meet People, Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Optimise asset reliability through effective procedures, technology adoption, reporting (SAP or similar), and continuous improvement to maximise availability and value.
  • Drive strategic maintenance planning by developing KPIs, predictive maintenance approaches, cost control measures, and managing both operational and capital maintenance budgets.
  • Lead people, capability and culture by coaching, mentoring and building a high‑performing team with strong succession, engagement and cross‑functional alignment.
  • Strengthen operational alignment by contributing to senior management planning, managing change initiatives, building strategic relationships, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

What You’ll Bring

  • Mechanical (or related) engineering degree, with desirable post‑grad or project management qualifications.
  • Extensive experience in similar roles with strong knowledge of gold processing plants, equipment and infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership in multi‑disciplinary teams with frontline supervisory experience in mining or heavy industry.
  • Experience in reliability engineering, maintenance planning and asset performance improvement.
  • A growth mindset, with strong communication, responsibility, and relationship-building skills.
