Environmental Assistant (50D)

We have an exciting new role in our Environment Team at Granny Smith Gold Mine. We are looking to share with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people interested in progressing their career in this area.

The Role:

• You’ll help the Environment team ensure the mine meets its environmental obligations. Your role will include:
  
• Environmental monitoring including collecting and sending water and soil samples for testing.
  
• Keeping records and entering data.
  
• Doing environmental inspections around the mine.
  
• Using drones to take pictures and collect imagery.
  
• Managing waste, including recycling and landfill.
  
• Helping with fauna handling and pest management.
  
• Supporting the Pastoral Officers on Mount Weld Cattle Station.
  
• Working with other departments on environmental issues.
  
• Getting involved in projects including land rehabilitation, collecting seeds, and mapping topsoil.
  

Work Schedule:

• 8 days on, 6 days off.
  
• You’ll fly in and out from Perth, or drive from the Goldfields area.
  
• We encourage local people from Kalgoorlie and Laverton to apply.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in the workforce, preferably in mining or completing fieldwork.
  
• Able to work outside in different weather conditions and working remotely.
  
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  
• A valid manual driver’s license.
