The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused individual to join our Underground Mining team at our owner-operated Granny Smith Mine. This underground role provides critical materials handling, logistics, and storeperson support to ensure uninterrupted underground mining operations.

You will play a key role in the receipt, control, storage, and underground delivery of materials, working closely with mining, maintenance, and technical teams.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current manual driver’s licence
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Experience in underground mining operations, service crew, paste crew, or underground logistics
  • Previous storeperson or materials handling experience (highly regarded)

 

About the Role:
This position combines underground service support with storeperson and inventory management duties, including:

  • Working underground to safely and efficiently deliver consumables, ground support, explosives, fuel, oils, and other critical materials to designated locations
  • Operating underground vehicles and equipment in accordance with site procedures
  • Receiving, issuing, and controlling stock to support underground operations
  • Managing inventory levels, stock rotation, and conducting regular stocktakes
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for materials movements
  • Ensuring high housekeeping standards in underground storage and work areas
  • Actively contributing to OHS and Environmental Management Systems through:
    • Toolbox meetings and safety interactions
    • Incident investigations and hazard reporting
    • Training and audit activities
  • Demonstrating strong time management, attention to detail, and a proactive safety mindset
