What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Senior Laboratory Operator, you will be responsible for providing support to metallurgical and operational personnel in the processing plant by sampling and analysing process streams to maximise plant performance and achieve production targets.
About the role:
- Demonstrate compliance with all safety, health, environmental systems and standards.
- Provide timely reports on a daily and weekly basis as determined by the current metallurgical laboratory sample schedule, inclusive of sample collection, preparation and analysis.
- Calibration and maintenance of laboratory and plant analysers.
- Provide technical support to the plant metallurgist and technicians.
- Manage data integrity through accuracy and consistency in daily tasks.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives through completion of additional test work as requested.
- Ensure consistent achievement of production targets by liaising with and supporting team members and completing additional sampling and testing as requested.
- Participate in training to ensure competency levels are attained and maintained.
What you’ll bring
- Current drivers licence.
- Computer literacy including experience using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in a metallurgical / analytical laboratory or processing role.
- Experience using AAS and in the operation of laboratory and plant analysers.
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, highly desirable.
