Surface Mining Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Gruyere Gold Mine for a values driven, dynamic leader with a passion for driving operational excellence.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will lead all facets of the open pit/surface operation to deliver on safety, production, and cost objectives. Your leadership will ensure the mine achieves its short-term targets while progressing long-term strategic plans.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Ensuring compliance with the WA Mines Act & Regulations.
• Leading surface production to meet budgets and long-term mine plans.
• Monitor production and mining projects' progress against monthly targets.
• Driving mining contractor performance against monthly mining and project targets.
• Overseeing mine operations and operational projects.
• Preparing accurate schedules, forecasts, and budgets to support operational excellence.

This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster fly in fly out from Perth.

What You Bring?

We are seeking an experienced senior leader, holding a WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate/ Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate as well as bringing open pit/surface mining expertise. Your background includes large-scale mechanised operations, with strong capability in contractor management and business partner engagement.

A Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) will complement your practical experience, and you will have a proven record of leading high-performing teams, drive safety, and consistently delivering operational excellence.
