The Opportunity:

You’ll make a meaningful difference by walking alongside our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees listening, supporting, and helping them build confidence, belonging, and long term careers at Gold Fields.

 

This is a hands on, people first role within our People team at St Ives. You’ll be based on site, getting to know our people, understanding their goals and challenges, and providing practical, culturally grounded support that helps them stay, grow, and succeed.

 

We know that one size doesn’t fit all. This role can be structured as FIFO, DIDO from Goldfields, or residential from Kalgoorlie or Kambalda. We’re genuinely open to working with you to find a roster and arrangement that supports you to do your best work while balancing life outside of it.

 

Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from underrepresented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles.

 

Accommodation includes basic furnishings and utilities and is subject to availability and housing policy, with support available to assist with transitioning to a lease after the initial six-month period. Eligibility and final terms will be discussed during the recruitment process.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide ongoing pastoral care and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
  • Build strong, trusted relationships through regular on site connection, listening, and yarning
  • Support retention by identifying challenges early and helping employees and leaders work through them together
  • Mentor employees and support the development of realistic, meaningful career pathways
  • Help employees navigate work, personal, and cultural commitments that may impact attendance, performance, or wellbeing
  • Work closely with frontline leaders and managers to help them better understand their people, cultural responsibilities, and how to provide the right support
  • Support focus groups and informal forums where people feel safe to share their experiences and ideas
  • Support community engagement and recruitment activities when needed

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working in Aboriginal engagement, mentoring, community support, or people‑focused roles
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values, and community responsibilities
  • A natural ability to build trust, listen deeply, and provide calm, balanced support
  • Confidence working oneonone with employees and leaders having open, respectful conversations
  • Experience in a mining or site‑based environment is highly regarded
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field highly desirable
  • Current Manual Drivers Licence
