Role Details:
Reporting to the Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the provision of a qualified geotechnical support service within the mine that will assist in the achievement of production and schedule targets, meeting all statutory and site-specific standards including cost, safety, and environment.

This role is offered on an 8-day, 6-day off roster and is either Fly-in, fly-out from Perth or Drive-in, drive-out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:

Daily production tasks relating to geotechnical engineering including review of development plans, stope and drill designs, documentation of inspections and data collection (core logging/mapping), geotechnical monitoring, stability analyses, design recommendations, QAQC and paste fill design.

Proactive communication of geotechnical issues in mining to the workforce and management

Be involved in short, medium and long-term projects and ensure that all geotechnical risks are considered, evaluated and have adequate controls.

Collect and analysis geotechnical parameters to ensure future mining recommendations are forthcoming when required.

Capable of running geotechnical aspects of a mine with some input from other senior staff. Undertaking work for medium term requirements of mine.

Undertake and review the performance of mining areas including back analysis to assist with optimising mine design and planning recommendations and process improvement opportunities
About you:

Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology with Post Graduate qualifications in Geomechanics

Demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering

Exposure to underground and open pit mining, or experience in underground with a keen interest in learning about open pits.

Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite and mining software such as Vulcan, Deswik, Datamine, RS3D, Rocscience, Map3D, mXrap, IMS software such as ticker3D, Trace, Vantage and Synapse.
