The Opportunity:
As part of the Gold Fields Graduate Program, you will complete rotations across four sites over a two-year period, including Agnew, Granny Smith, Gruyere, St Ives, and (where relevant) the Perth office. Throughout the program, you’ll work alongside members of our highly experienced technical team, gaining hands-on exposure to the gold mining environment. You’ll develop and demonstrate a set of core competencies, ensuring well-rounded capability across all key areas. This program offers genuine, real-world mining experience and the opportunity to see how your foundational university studies translate into practice.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Current manual driver’s licence.
- Completed your Tertiary Qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or related field by end 2026. (Inclusive of Soil or Rock Mechanics, Geology, Civil Eng, Mining Eng. degrees)
- Vacation experience in a mining environment is ideal, but not essential
About the Role:
- Learn, through site-based roles, the application of geotechnical engineering principles with regards to mine ground control, including collecting field data, conducting inspections and analysing geotechnical conditions
- With guidance, undertake field inspections, manage ground support QA/QC, mine compliance to design and support backfill fill design.
- Contribute to production tasks, ensuring geotechnical risks are identified, assessed and effectively controlled.
