The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Superintendent: Projects at St Ives, you will be working in a collaborative and supportive work environment and be responsible for the coordination of capital projects including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, installation, repair, improvement, relocation, decommission and demolition of facilities and associated Underground and Surface infrastructures. Project coordination is required to meet current and anticipated capital project demand in accordance with Gold Fields standards, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in the planning and execution of projects from inception to completion.
- Support the Capital Projects department by coordinating all aspects of projects, ensuring appropriate processes and guidelines are in place.
- Maintain consistency and transferability of technical work, ensuring efficient and cost-effective implementation of design intent, while integrating with other systems.
- Assist in preparing and managing the project budgets and schedules.
- Apply commercial acumen to develop high-quality capital expenditure submissions using appropriate templates and methodologies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor adherence to new procedures, processes, and technologies to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- Provide expert guidance and technical input into project scopes, including but not limited to mine infrastructure, plant construction and technology applications for both underground and surface mining and processing operations.
- Provide input into project controls activities, ensuring accurate monthly reports that detail forecasts against key milestones and capital expenditure tracking.
- Play a senior role in fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued and have opportunities to excel.
- Liaise with and maintain contracts, supporting management in developing accurate scopes of work to establish project agreements.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
- Track project deliverables and ensure they meet quality standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Post graduate qualifications in engineering /trade qualification, and/or project management is desirable
- Proven experience as a Project Coordinator in an underground mining environment
- Demonstrate application of continuous improvement ideas
- Project Management experience on infrastructure projects.
- A valid manual Driver’s Licence
- Highly competent in Microsoft office, Project, Excel, other software such as Deswik, Auto CAD
- Staturtory Supervisor’s Certificate or the ability to obtain one
