This role is offered on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. This opportunity is open to Kambalda or Kalgoorlie residents only.

What you’ll be doing

You will assist the Metallurgist and Metallurgical Assistant with routine and nonroutine sample preparation and analysis as part of our Metallurgical Department. You’ll help support plant operations by delivering accurate laboratory results in a timely and professional manner. Duties include:

  • Prepare and analyse samples as directed.
  • Keep the lab clean and tidy, and assist in looking after equipment.
  • Check and calibrate instruments so they provide accurate readings.
  • Complete admin tasks, including entering information into SAP and other systems.
  • Learn how the processing plant works, including crushing, grinding, leaching, refining and tailings.
  • Follow all safety and environmental guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques advantageous
  • Previous experience in a mineral processing plant or site laboratory desirable
  • Current Driver’s Licence (manual C class preferred).
  • Strong teamwork, communication and sound computer skills.
