Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking an Underground Production Coordinator to join the Underground Mining team at Agnew.

 

Reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager, you will be responsible for full compliance with Gold Fields standards of both the Contractor and Gold Fields employees, whilst ensuring the delivery of operational targets in a safe, productive and efficient manner. 

 

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off, Fly in Fly out from Perth for the right candidate.

About the role:

  • Maintain and uphold the requirements of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the work area to proactively address any adverse safety and production impacts.
  • Understanding the monthly plan, and proactively managing the Contractor to deliver the plan.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures ensuring that these are consistently adhered to in the operation of the mine and seek opportunities to improve these procedures and Standards.
  • Open communication and encouragement of teamwork through all levels and disciplines in the underground operation and proactive interactions with Technical Services and all Business partners.
  • Proactive involvement in weekly, monthly and quarterly planning processes.
  • Perform audits to assist the Technical Services team and UG Manager.
  • Assist in the effective control of mining related costs by optimising the use of allocated resources, mining to plan and reporting any alterations to mining plan.
  • Ensure all short term contractors on site comply with Gold Fields standards and schedules.

 

About you:

  • At least 15 years’ experience in an underground mining environment – preferably gold
  • Possession of an Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and proficiency in running the different facets of an underground mining operation including but not limited to development, ground support, explosives, long-hole open stoping, production drilling, bogging (tele-remote and conventional), paste filling, ventilation, and dewatering.
  • Valid WA C driver’s license
  • Supervision experience in both owner miner and contractor operations
  • Preferred previous experience as an UG Mine Coordinator (Foreman)
  • Immediate – Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
