Role Details:
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Superintendent: Ventilation to join Agnew Gold Mine. Reporting to the Unit Manager: Technical Services, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations. In compliance with site and legislative Environmental and Safety Standards, you will be responsible for all ventilation aspects, including the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans in line with short to long-term planning targets.

This remote location role is offered on an 8/6, 4/3 Fly-in Fly-out roster from Perth or a Drive-in Drive-out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:
-
Ensure that all legislative, company, and best practice standards are met concerning ventilation planning and occupational health and safety
-
Liaising between stakeholders to support a comprehensive, integrated mine plan
-
Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ventilation modelling/simulation and major projects
-
Timely delivery and review of ventilation plans for development, production, and project activities; complying with legislative and internal standards

Consultation in monthly, business, and strategic planning processes with attention to ventilation-related safety, schedule, reliability and costs

Quarterly and monthly monitoring and reporting on the performance of ventilation circuits
-
Education and coaching of personnel to improve understanding of ventilation systems, plans, and practices
-
Actively identify risks and threats to safely achieving targets and develop, establish, and manage programs to ensure risk elimination/minimisation

Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by contributing to the optimisation of ventilation systems, processes and practices, regularly reviewing and identifying new opportunities
About you:

Possess tertiary qualifications in recognised ventilation courses (Mining Engineering degree or similar preferred)

Demonstrated Supervisory or Management Leadership

Competency in mine ventilation and design software platforms (VentSim, Deswik, MS Office)

Strongly demonstrated experience in UG ventilation engineering, with exposure to deep decline access mines,

Exposure to the compilation of operational and strategic plans

Compilation of capital and operating budgets exposure is an asset

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence others, communicate complex concepts, and document clearly and concisely
-
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.

Possess a Valid (manual) WA Driver’s License
