Role Details:

Reporting to the Senior Advisor: Environment, you will be responsible for the contribution of environmental activities within the operation which meet current and anticipated demands by Gold Fields EHS standards whilst maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements to ensure sustainable mining operations.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:

  • Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of a proactive environmental management plan (particularly land disturbance, water, waste and biodiversity management);

  • Ensure effective controls are in place to manage the compliant with legislative, heritage and company obligations

  • Contribute to sustainable mining by advising on and facilitating approvals for operations;

  • Undertake stakeholder engagement including meetings with regulators and local communities;

  • Assist in the continuous improvement and maintenance of the site’s ISO14001-certified Environmental Management System;

  • Coordinate and undertake site monitoring programs, data collection and analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline

  • A strong understanding of Western Australian legislation (DMIRS, DWER, DPLH and DBCA)

  • Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office. Experience in ArcGIS and UAV Remote Pilot Licence is desirable.

  • Proven experience in an environmental function within the mining sector

  • Possess a valid manual Driver’s Licence
