The underground mobile maintenance team at Granny Smith gold mine have an opportunity for a Leading Hand – Mechanical Mobile to join their team.

 

Role Details:

Reporting to the Supervisor: Mechanical, you will be responsible for the effective execution and supervision of mechanical maintenance related issues for mobile underground and surface equipment on site.

This is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off roster and is FIFO from Perth.

Duties of the role:

  • Supervising the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team inclusive of contractors in a cost-efficient manner in both surface and underground workshops

  • Achieve budgeted maintenance targets by practicing preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of mobile equipment.

  • Assist with ongoing training and mentoring of apprentices and trainees and supervising of contractors.

  • Ensuring the activities of maintenance personnel are consistently aligned with meeting operational targets

  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of adherence to relevant new maintenance procedures, processes, and technology to ensure the safe and efficient operation of assets by providing input based on previous experiences

About you:

  • Valid Mechanical Trade Qualification

  • Previous experience in mechanical maintenance in an underground environment and knowledge of mining technologies and equipment

  • Experience with Sandvik development drills, Epiroc MT65’s and Production drills, Caterpillar R2900 & R1700 Loaders 

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Current WA Dangerous Goods Card, Working at Heights, and Confined Spaces 

  • Previous SAP and AMT knowledge an advantage
