About Granny Smith Mine
Granny Smith, located in the Yilgarn Craton approximately 400km northeast of Kalgoorlie and 1,140km from Perth, has been operating for over 30 years. It is home to the Wallaby deposit, which transitioned from open-pit to underground mining in 2005 and has a mine life expectancy of at least 10 years.

This is a permanent FIFO role from Perth on 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
Your Role
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will play a key role in supporting and supervising field exploration programs and core yard operations, ensuring quality control over drilling, sampling, and assaying.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the geological assistant team’s daily activities.
· Plan, schedule, and allocate geological assistant-related tasks efficiently.
· Supervise a diverse team of Geology Assistants at core sheds and remote drill sites.
· Ensure all field staff are adequately trained and qualified for their tasks.
· Set and manage priorities in a dynamic work environment, fostering talent within the team.
· Adhere to QA and QC procedures.
· Lead and support exploration rehabilitation activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and site standards.
· Support the effective delivery of exploration programs.
· Ensure timely sample submissions and maintain geological consumables.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach. Ideally, you will have:
· A manual Driver’s Licence (HR/MR Licence highly regarded)
· A Forklift Licence
· Proven experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge of core farm operations and exploration drilling
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· A high commitment to safety standards and leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
