Senior Projects Engineer

Gold Fields is excited to welcome applications for the role of Senior Projects Engineer to join our dynamic sustaining capital projects team at Granny Smith. This role plays a pivotal role in overseeing contractors and delivering capital projects that meet our high standards for safety, environmental care, cost efficiency, and quality.

This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

Your Impact

Supported by the Projects Superintendent, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the success of our mining projects. You’ll:

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of project delivery, ensuring alignment with best practices and company guidelines.
• Build strong, respectful relationships with contractors at Granny Smith gold mine.
• Proactively identify and address emerging challenges to keep projects on track.
• Champion innovation by implementing new procedures, processes, and technologies.
• Maintain open and transparent communication with contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide expert technical input into project scopes to ensure successful outcomes.
• Oversee safety and financial performance of contract work, including cost reporting, forecasting, and variation management.

About You

We’re looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking professional who brings:

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mining or Electrical Engineering or extensive Mechanical Trade experience with projects experience.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Business or Project Management (highly regarded)
• Proven experience in contractor management
• Proficiency in MS Office, Ventsim, Deswik, and SAP
• Strong leadership skills, with a focus on team development and change management
