Trade Assistant

Reporting to Supervisor: Mechanical (Mobile), your main responsibilities as a Trade Assistant will include but not be limited to assisting and providing quality and timely mechanical service maintenance and repairs of the mobile and ancillary equipment as well as other areas of the operation to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient manner.

This is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off roster and is FIFO from Perth, or DIDO for local community.

About the role:

• Ensure the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by assisting maintenance trades personnel in executing preventative maintenance activities through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of mobile and ancillary equipment.
• Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and equipment stoppages to the mobile maintenance shift Supervisor.
• Support the efficient operation of the Wallaby underground mobile maintenance, team by assisting in the daily operations of both surface and underground workshops, and providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge and practical application.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout workshops and other areas maintenance work is carried out.

About you:

• Hold a valid WA drivers’ licence.
• Possess a mobile Crane ticket. (desirable)
• Dogging, EWP, Forklift tickets. (desirable)
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Manual labour experience (preferred) to cope with the physical demand of the role.
