Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Gruyere was commissioned in 2019 and is one of Australia's largest and lowest cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years

 

Gold Fields has an opportunity for a Unit Maintenance Manager to join our Processing Maintenance team at Gruyere Gold Mine.
 

Role Details:

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the Maintenance function at the Gruyere Gold Mine. This includes ensuring the efficient and effective acquisition, operation, maintenance, and disposal of plant assets in line with the company’s operational, financial, and strategic objectives.

This role is offered on a 8/6, 4/3 or equivalent roster FIFO from Perth.

About the role:

  • Responsible for asset management, cost control, time control, quality control, purchasing and contract administration for the Maintenance team at Gruyere.

  • Continuously identify and drive opportunities to improve maintenance activities and implement best practice updates and changes.

  • Be visible and provide ongoing leadership, coaching and mentoring for the Maintenance team to enhance team capability and engagement.  

  • Play a key role as part of the site management team in the implementation of a positive, safe, and productive culture in the workplace.

  • Ensure compliance with OHS and Environmental Management Systems by developing and participating in initiatives; leading toolbox meetings; investigations; training; assisting with the implementation; and participating in and contributing to audits.

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant trade qualification (mechanical or electrical preferred).

  • Significant experience in maintenance management including planning and scheduling, asset and contracts management, and reliability.

  • Strong leadership experience and ability to engage and empower large teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex maintenance issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.

  • Experience with a wide range of surface mining equipment and infrastructure.

  • Experience with budgets, financial analysis, and cost management.
