Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Gruyere was commissioned in 2019 and is one of Australia's largest and lowest cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile more than 10 years.

 

Role Details:

As the Maintenance Coordinator, reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent, your role is to manage all mechanical maintenance activities across the site processing and non-processing infrastructure. Your focus is to meet operational needs in line with Gold Fields' standards, ensuring strict adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks including safe work practices. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical proficiency, and a strategic mindset.

This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:

  • Drive exemplary safety practices through proactive team engagement and rigorous incident management.
  • Direct predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance, optimising resource allocation through the shutdown scheduling process.
  • Accountable for delivery for the Gold Fields work management process. Including the continuous refinement of these processes
  • Ensure precise information delivery to support planning, engineering, maintenance, and operational decisions. Including the building of strong relations with these key stakeholder and support teams.
  • Maintain strict compliance with, workplace health and safety, mining regulations and other regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of the shutdown plan.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance superintendent and shutdown supervisor to execute the strategy.
  • Liaise with the shutdown supervisor, area leads, shutdown planners, materials technicians, Business Partner supervisors, and SME’s.
  • Allocate resources and manage the schedule to ensure efficient execution of shutdown activities.
  • Monitor progress, identify potential bottlenecks or issues, and take corrective actions.
  • Communicate updates and progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed.
  • Lead mechanical team recruitment, fostering development through, succession planning, targeted training, and mentorship.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs to mechanical systems to ensure plant reliability and workplace safety.
  • Assume Superintendent duties when needed, showcasing operational leadership, adaptability and driving of the business plan.

About you:

  • Recognised Trade Qualification with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership position within a mining environment, including vendor management, performance development and contractor management.
  • Exposure to maintenance planning or asset management fundamentals 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop a planned maintenance culture 
  • Experience in using SAP, INX, Excel programs and exposure in ICAM investigation practises
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Demonstration of working in a proactive planned maintenance environment with a drive for reliability Centred maintenance
