Gold Fields, in partnership with Gold Road Resources (50:50 JV), is proud to operate the Gruyere Gold Mine, located on the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Since its commissioning in 2019, Gruyere has become one of the country’s most efficient gold producers, delivering over 300,000 ounces per year with a projected mine life exceeding a decade.

 

We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Health & Safety Advisor who leads through influence — a trusted partner to operational teams, focused on building a strong, proactive safety culture that extends beyond systems and compliance.

This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off. Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

 

About the role:

As a key part of our site safety team, you'll work closely with leaders across the business to embed our safety values, shape critical conversations, and support a culture where people look out for themselves and each other.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Engage with leaders across site to support the delivery of Gold Fields’ Safety and Wellbeing Strategy
  • Coach and mentor frontline leaders to build confidence and capability in safety leadership
  • Facilitate and support incident investigations, ensuring effective learning and timely closeout
  • Drive the implementation of Gold Fields’ Critical Hazard Program and support effective risk management in Operations
  • Ensure compliance with HSES systems, standards, and legislative requirements
  • Analyse safety performance data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement
  • Promote visible safety leadership through proactive field engagement and presence
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and the closeout of associated actions
  • Have the opportunity to collaborate, lead and support continuous improvement health and safety focused projects to support the safety maturity and culture growth of Gruyere.

 

About you:

We’re looking for someone who pairs strong technical capability with a genuine commitment to people and culture. You know how to connect with others, build trust, and positively influence safe behaviours across the operation.

You’ll bring:

  • A collaborative mindset and strong alignment with Gold Fields’ values and safety culture
  • A tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety (desirable)
  • Experience in Health & Safety roles within mining, heavy industry, or construction
  • Proven capability in supporting HSES systems, audits, and assurance processes
  • A solid understanding of WHS legislation and its practical application in operational environments
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and build the capability of frontline leaders and teams
  • Experience in incident investigations, ideally using ICAM or a similar methodology
  • Strong knowledge of risk and hazard management, including the application of critical controls
  • Skills in data analysis and use of safety reporting tools to drive insights and continuous improvement (desirable)
