Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. This newly constructed mine site boasts a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years. Making it one of Australia’s largest and lowest cost gold mining operations.
Role Details:
Reporting to to the Manager: Geology, you will be responsible for facilitating the optimal production of gold ore from the open pit mining operation through the coordination of geological activities to ensure maximum return to the business in alignment with EHS standards. This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role:
• Assist with developing departmental business plan;
• Coordinate daily work plan to meet operational targets;
• Manage Grade Control drilling;
• Contribute to planned production, liaise closely with mine planning and production engineering departments;
• Review mine production budget and forecast to ensure they are achievable;
• Monitor reconciliation systems for managing grade control to minimise dilution and maximise recovery of ore;
• Contribute to the definition, implementation and monitoring of short, medium and long-term mines-based drilling programs;
• Apply knowledge and best practice to reduce geological risk and increase model accuracy;
• Consistently aim to exceed reporting standards with completed geological interpretation and models.
About you:
• A Bachelor of Science in Geology or related discipline
• Supervisory/Management qualification
• Prior mining industry experience – preferably gold – with exposure to mine geology, resource and grade control estimation and extensional exploration
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and geological software such as Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac and Leapfrog
• A valid Driver’s Licence
