Role Details:

Reporting to Superintendent of Operational Training, you will be responsible for coordinating the Gold Fields Australia apprentice and trainee programs.

This role is offered on a 5 days on 2 days off roster (Monday – Friday) at our Perth corporate office on a permanent basis. The role is a hybrid role, and some flexibility is available to work from home 2 days a week, and work a 9-day fortnight if wish to do so. The role will necessitate some travel to our operating mines on an infrequent basis.

About the role:

  • Coordinate the Gold Fields Apprentice and Traineeship programs to ensure they are managed efficiently and effectively in line with company goals in relation to capability development future skills.
  • Work closely with the operational leads to ensure that Apprentices and Trainees are supported throughout their program.
  • Maintain the Apprentice and Trainee training needs matrix and schedule required training and/or rotations to address competency requirements (including TAFE learning blocks and other external training).
  • Facilitate the sign-up and onboarding process of all Apprentices and Trainees and liaise with relevant external institutions and government agencies to ensure correct and timely sign ups and TAFE enrolments.
  • Manage Apprentice and Trainee employment and enrolment claims for government incentives on behalf of Gold fields Australia.
  • Provide support to operational leaders of apprentices and trainees to ensure they have the skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively mentor, guide, and develop the apprentices and trainees
  • Co-coordinate the Future Program for Education Scholarships at GFA, including the application process, interviews, and development.
  • Support all Future Skills outcomes as required

 

 

 

About you:

  • Proven experience within the mining or construction industry.
  • Experience in the coordination of Apprentice/Trainee training or training programs is essential.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is desirable.
  • Understanding of VET legislative and compliance requirements is essential.
  • High level interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong partnerships across a range of stakeholders.
  • High level of proficiency and experience in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
