Lead Mining Projects Specialist

We have an opportunity for a Lead Specialist Mining Projects to join our Corporate Technical team in a dynamic, international environment This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful mining projects that prioritise sustainability and operational excellence.

As part of this commitment, reporting to the Senior Manager Long-term Planning Underground, this role will be pivotal in developing and evaluating technically viable and sustainable solutions for various strategic projects within the Group, including supporting scoping and pre-feasibility studies as well as asset based strategic projects. This role encompasses managing operational and site-based initiatives, focusing on early study cases, align with our ESG, strategic planning and operational planning objectives.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis and will require travel our assets to support our projects and operations. Alternatively, if preferred, a 9-day fortnight with hybrid and flexible working arrangements could be considered.

What You’ll do?

• Plan and conduct early-stage scoping and concept studies to inform strategic decision-making.
• Support integrated prefeasibility studies, ensuring a consistent approach to technical and financial elevations.
• Develop and evaluate sustainable solutions for operational and strategic projects.
• Collaborate with internal resources and external business partners to leverage expertise and insights for project execution.
• Deliver timely on projects, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards, and align with the strategic goals of the organisation.

What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking professional who brings:

• Extensive displayed leadership experience in underground, with a strong background in studies and project management.
• Relevant degree in mining engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven track record in being involved integrated scoping and prefeasibility studies, demonstrating a solid understanding of technical and financial evaluation methods.
• Technical expertise in mining processes, project management methodologies, and sustainable practices.
• Proficiency in XERAS, Deswik, MS Projects and Ventsim; with proficiency in Pumpsim is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
