As part of this commitment, reporting to the Senior Manager Mining Studies, come and join the Corporate technical team and be pivotal in developing and evaluating technically viable and sustainable solutions for various strategic projects, including site based strategic projects. This role encompasses managing operational and site-based initiatives, focusing on early-stage scoping and concept studies that align with our strategic and business planning objectives, ESG targets, and future project progression stages—including prefeasibility and feasibility studies.

 

This is a hybrid position is based in the Perth Office with regular travel to Australian and global assets as required, and is offered on 5 days on, 2 days off, or ask about our flexible working arrangements.

About the role:

  • Conduct prefeasibility and feasibility studies across the Group, ensuring a consistent approach to technical and financial elevations.
  • Develop technical and financial standards, including consistent evaluation methods for the studies.
  • Conduct early-stage scoping and concept studies to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Strengthen and foster a dynamic environment to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal resources and external consultants to leverage expertise and insights for project execution.
  • Manage the timely delivery of projects, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards, and align with the strategic goals of the organisation.

Who Are We Looking For?:

  • An autonomous, driven, and safety conscious individual who is willing to share knowledge with others
  • Extensive proven senior leadership experience in underground and open-pit mining, with a strong background in studies and project management
  • Relevant degree in mining engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven track record in managing prefeasibility and feasibility studies, demonstrating a solid understanding of technical and financial evaluation methods as well as the  Resource & Reserves estimate process.
  • Proficiency in XERAS and Deswik
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in an accessible manner
  • Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
