We have an opportunity for a Lead Specialist Occupational Health to join our Sustainable Development team in a dynamic, international environment. This position was created through our recent operating model update to build on the global nature and impact of our business.

 

Role Details:

Reporting to the to the Senior Manager Occupational Health, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the group framework for occupational health to ensure that potential health exposures are controlled within acceptable limits.

This role is offered on a permanent basis and will require global travel to support our local and international projects and operations.

About the role:

  • Implement a group framework to manage all occupational exposures as low as reasonably achievable and mitigate occupational health risks across all assets;

  • Work collaboratively across the group to ensure that the requirements of the group standard for occupational health are integrated within all activities;

  • Establish a focus on Critical Risk Management for occupational health through the development and implementation of processes and tools designed to enable easy and consistent identification of critical risks and associated critical controls in the workplace;

  • With input from relevant functions, develop and integrate a schedule of control verifications with three lines of assurance as the underlying principle;

  • Constantly build capacity within the group to establish occupational health risk management as a core competency within all levels of the business;

  • Establish reporting processes to ensure that data obtained from various sources provides credible input into risk-based decision making for all leaders;

  • Provide a second line of assurance over the operational occupational health management practices and controls at the assets.

 

About you:

  • Possess relevant qualifications in Occupational Health

  • Extensive relevant industry experience

  • Ideally relevant international industry experience

  • Prior experience collaborating as an integral member of a multifunctional management team

  • Experience developing and executing short to long term plans supporting strategy
