Oversee the centralised maintenance function supporting 4 Australian Assets for all surface and underground mobile and fixed assets.

 

Role Details:

Reporting to Senior VP Operations, this role will lead strategic maintenance, enhance asset reliability, and optimize maintenance systems to improve plant performance, reduce downtime, and ensure long-term asset integrity while aligning with operational goals.

This role is Perth based position offered on 9 day fortnight on a permanent basis.

About the role:

  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance - Ensure safe and compliant operations by enforcing OHS and environmental standards, fostering a proactive safety culture, and implementing initiatives to reduce workplace incidents and promote health and safety.

  • Team Leadership, Performance, and Culture Management - Lead and mentor the team, align goals with company objectives, foster a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity, and high performance, and ensure clear roles and effective communication to drive team success and performance outcomes.

  • Strategic and Operational Planning - Contribute to strategic and operational planning by collaborating with Senior Management to ensure alignment between operational goals, business objectives, and strategic plans. Develop short and long-term strategies to optimize operations and Life of Mine (LOM) planning.

  • Asset Management and Equipment Reliability - Optimize asset performance and reliability by collaborating with the Asset Management team to define and implement equipment reliability strategies. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and plant performance.

  • Maintenance Systems and Work Management - Enhance maintenance management systems by improving work order management, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution of maintenance plans. Focus on reducing downtime and maximizing asset performance.

  • Financial Management and Budget Control - Manage budgets and resources by overseeing departmental budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring alignment with company goals while optimizing resources and maintaining asset integrity.

  • Capital Projects and Performance Optimization - Lead capital projects and operational improvements by contributing to capital improvement projects, ensuring they align with business goals and deliver maximum ROI. Implement innovative solutions to improve plant performance and reduce downtime.

  • Contractor and External Relationships Management - Manage contractors and external partnerships by ensuring contractors meet performance targets, align with company goals, and maintain strong working relationships to support departmental objectives.

 

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mining or related discipline)

  • Extensive experience in a maintenance management role within the mining industry.

  • Leadership qualifications such as Diploma in Frontline Management or similar

  • Certifications in asset integrity, maintenance management systems, safety management, or business / project management highly regarded

  • Thought leader who can skilfully engage, influence and lead change.
