Our newly formed Group Capital Projects team have an opportunity for a Principal Specialist Project Services to join their team.


Role Details:

Reporting to VP: Capital and Projects, you will be accountable for setting the project controls standards and tools (cost, schedule, and risk), maintaining the capital delivery framework documentation, managing the investment office and assurance program.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis and will require global site travel to support local and international major capital projects.

About the role:

  • Ensure that our projects are resourced appropriately for project control resources, and that team capability is matched to the complexity of the project. You will also maintain a talent pipeline for project managers.
  • Ensure that projects controls staff are aware of and trained in the application of the Gold Fields project requirements.
  • Maintain and provide guidance on project controls processes, standards, and tools (cost, schedule and risk) for project delivery across the group.
  • Maintain the project framework documentation (Investment process, study standards, execution phase standards, reports) for use by the projects team.
  • Ensure that there is a consistent project reporting format and processes for site, functional and corporate stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the investment committee meetings are scheduled and supporting documentation is in place.
  • In collaboration with the Principal Studies and Principal Execution, ensure that the assurance plan is maintained for the capital portfolio, in support of the investment process and gating requirements.
  • Consolidating project information across the portfolio to provide insights into progress (cost and schedule) and risks for senior stakeholders and other business processes.
  • Collaborate with the project services group to ensure that there are appropriate governance programs in place to provide assurance during the execution phase.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Ability to communicate in English (advanced level for verbal and written)
  • Significant project services experience ideally in the mining industry
  • Portfolio management experience
  • Effective cross business stakeholder management
  • Manual c class drivers license
